The Leesville Lions Club held its lunch meeting at the Louisiana Lions Camp in Anacoco, where members welcomed their newest member, Stephanie Miller.

Miller, sponsored by Past President Lion Lawna Michelle Mayo, was officially inducted by President Carl Simone and District Governor Trey Dowden.

Members also participated in a game of Lions trivia organized by Lion Trey and Lion Cindy Wann Jeane.

The meeting also included an ongoing dispute involving the club’s Fire Lion.

Lion Devin Averitt arrived with another stand-in for the original Fire Lion, which he lost and still had not recovered. The club said Averitt had also lost possession of a different stand-in the previous day at the Executive Board meeting.

The latest stand-in disappeared while Averitt was otherwise occupied.

Tail Twister Lion Luke Brandon gave Averitt until the next meeting to produce the original Fire Lion or face a doubling of his $50 fine for losing the original Fire Lion.

An update said the second stand-in lion had been located, although not by Averitt. The lion was to be returned to its rightful owner, while the search for the Fire Lion continued.
