The Vernon Parish Library and the Vernon Parish Historical and Genealogical Society will host a free presentation, “A Walk Through the Archives” on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 11:30am-12:15pm. The presentation will focus on discovering how the stories, records and memories that connect the community are preserved. Discover the fascinating and detailed process involved in properly storing, protecting, and preserving donated historical materials for future generations. If you’ve ever wondered what happens to these items once they become part of the library’s collection, this is a great opportunity to learn more. The presentation will be held in the meeting room of the main branch of the Vernon Parish Library.
