
The Vernon Parish School Board will host a Substitute Orientation for individuals interested in serving as substitutes during the 2026-2027 school year.
The orientation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Leesville High School’s STEAM Building, located at 502 Berry Drive in Leesville.
All substitutes planning to assist Vernon Parish Schools during the 2026-2027 school year will need to attend orientation before being placed on the substitute list for the school year.
A $125 stipend is available for those who complete additional requirements and serve as a substitute in Head Start and B5 Early Childhood Programs.
Additional requirements include:
- Mandated Reporter and Early Childhood Modules
- First Aid/CPR training (training provided)
- Additional background check
