The City of Leesville recognized two local students this week as recipients of annual scholarship awards from the Mayor’s Women’s Commission.

Bhavi Patel and Matthew Koury were selected to receive $500 scholarships as part of this year’s program. Both students are seniors involved in the Leesville High School SGA.

The City of Leesville Municipal Government congratulated the recipients and noted the importance of continued support for student achievement and leadership development.

The Mayor’s Women’s Commission, which oversees the scholarship program, was also recognized for its ongoing commitment to investing in local youth and encouraging educational advancement within the community.

City officials said the awards reflect a broader effort to support students as they prepare for higher education and future careers.
