Vernon Parish 4-H Seed of the Month Club members have spent the year planting, growing, and learning, receiving a new seed variety each month to try at home. The program includes a range of seeds, from radishes, carrots, lettuce, sunflowers, and zinnias to July’s featured seed: pumpkins.

The Hernandez Family, members of the VPHS 4-H Club, took the July pumpkin seeds and achieved remarkable success, winning the Youth Pumpkin Category at the West Louisiana Forestry Festival.

The 4-H Seed of the Month Club emphasizes the values of planting potential, nurturing growth, and celebrating achievements, fostering both education and community involvement among young gardeners.
