Leesville City Council 9-11-2023

The Leesville City Council met Monday, September 11.  One of the first orders of business was the amendment of an ordinance of June 26, 2023, which provided for the issuance of $400,000 in Excess Revenue Bonds, Series 2023 of the City of Leesville.  This met with unanimous approval by the Council.

The Council also authorized the City to accept appropriated funds approved in Act 397 of the Louisiana Legislature.  The $280,000 will be used for building repairs.  Mayor Rick Allen may now sign and execute a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Louisiana Department of Treasury to authorize reimbursement of funds retroactive to July 1, 2023.

Council members approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with Terracon Consultants.  The company will offer an environmental assessment at Leesville Airport for the purpose of applying to secure funds for work there.

Ms. Rebecca Durrett was introduced to the Council members as the new manager of the mini-golf facility opening Saturday at the Leesville Municipal Golf Course. Finishing touches to the 18-hole design will be added later this month.
