Mayor Rick Allen and Leesville Council Members are proud to announce the opening of the new Leesville Mini Golf Course on September 23, 2023. Surrounded by the Leesville Municipal Golf Course, the new venue will be open to the public every day except Thursday, which will be reserved for private parties only.
The location, on the site of the old municipal pool which has been a blight on the golf course landscape for decades, is beautifully landscaped and the city is already planning the addition of some palm trees in the very near future, which will provide some much-needed shade during the hot summer months.
With a par score of 61 for the 18-hole course, movement proceeds quickly, even when playing with a group. Each of the 18 holes is wheelchair accessible, although some will not offer a lot of room for maneuvering.
City employees and their families recently had an opportunity to play the course during their Employee Appreciation Day. Everyone agreed it was a lot of fun, with enough obstacles and tempting short-cuts to make it challenging for more experienced players, while offering simpler options for beginners.
