The Leesville Lions Club welcomed Mayor Lafonda Stelly to Lunch with Lions, where she shared her vision for the city and participated in a conversation with club members.

Several topics important to the future of Leesville were discussed, including the sports complex, ongoing beautification efforts, the Fort Polk entrance road and other opportunities to continue moving the community forward.

The club thanked Mayor Stelly for taking the time to attend, answer questions, listen to ideas and concerns, and have an open conversation about the city.

Following the discussion, Tail Twisters Lion Luke and Lion Jesse officially returned the Fire Lion to Lion Devin with instructions not to lose it again. They also returned the faux lion Devin had previously attempted to pass off as the real thing.

The Tail Twisters reminded Devin that he is now responsible for choosing the Fire Lion’s next recipient and, if he does not lose it again, will pass it along to another Lion at an upcoming meeting.

The club also referenced allegations involving bribery of a Lion’s mother and an unauthorized entrance into a fellow Lion’s office during Devin’s search for the missing lion.

The club said it was not saying an investigation is underway, but was also not saying it is not, adding that more Fire Lion drama may be in the near future.
