Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry Wildland Firefighters contained a wildfire in Vernon Parish on Sept. 16. The fire, located east of Leesville near Simpson, was estimated at 150 to 200 acres. LDAF responded with five dozers, one aircraft and seven personnel.

Crews worked through the night to establish and secure containment lines, and the fire was fully contained before daybreak.
