The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report that a shackled inmate jumped from a patrol unit while being transported from court to the VPSO jail.

A perimeter was immediately established, and deputies canvassed the wooded area behind David Haymon State Farm on South 5th Street.

Within minutes, VPSO deputies took the subject, identified as 30-year-old Juwan Deante Satcher, back into custody without incident.
