The Village of Simpson Water System received the 2026 Source Water Protection System of the Year award during the Louisiana Rural Water Association’s Annual Awards Ceremony held July 15 in Lake Charles.

The award recognizes the Village of Simpson Water System for its efforts to protect the community’s drinking water supply.

Village officials thanked the Louisiana Rural Water Association for its continued support, knowledge and assistance over the years.

According to the village, the award reflects the dedication and hard work of the team responsible for maintaining the water system and ensuring a safe drinking water supply for customers each day.

Officials said the work of protecting the community’s drinking water may not always be visible, but it is made possible through the expertise, vigilance and commitment of the water system’s staff.
