A Hunter Education Course will be held July 24-25 at the West Louisiana Forestry Building, located at 276 H.M. Stevens Blvd. at the Vernon Parish Fairgrounds in Leesville.
The course is scheduled for Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. until the course is completed.
The 10-hour classroom course is typically held over two to three days and covers firearm and hunting safety, wildlife management principles, ethics, game identification and outdoor survival.
Students must successfully complete a live-fire exercise. Firearms and ammunition will be provided for the exercise, and students should not bring their own firearms or ammunition.
