The Jubilee Park Committee of Leesville expressed appreciation to the community following its Juneteenth celebration held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the MLK Center.
Organizers thanked attendees, volunteers, vendors, and supporting partners for contributing to the event, which featured games, music, free food and drinks, and educational outreach efforts. Community partners included CASA, as well as the Leesville Fire Department, which also provided a truck tour for children in attendance.
Event organizers also recognized guest speaker Evangelist Angela Lovely of IDF Interdenominational Church in Leesville for her remarks during the celebration.
The Jubilee Park Committee, a nonprofit organization established in 2008 and funded through dues and donations, noted that it hosts six to eight community events annually.
Looking ahead, the organization announced its next event: the Sherell “Rell” Lewis Memorial Back to School Event, scheduled for August 15, 2026, at the MLK Center in Leesville.
