Fort Polk, Vernon Parish Schools strengthen partnership through education initiatives

U.S. Army Fort Polk strengthened its ongoing partnership with local education leaders June 11 through two events aimed at supporting student opportunities and expanding community collaboration.

The day began with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between Fort Polk and the Vernon Parish School Board, allowing local high school golf teams to use Warrior Hills Golf Course as their designated home course for school-sanctioned practices and tournaments.

Following the agreement signing, Fort Polk hosted its annual Education Summit at the Warrior Center, bringing together installation leadership, educators and community partners to discuss ongoing efforts to support student achievement.

Officials said the summit focused on strengthening relationships between the installation and local school districts, improving communication and aligning policies to better serve students, teachers, parents and administrators across the region.

Fort Polk leaders emphasized that the initiatives reflect a continued commitment to expanding educational opportunities and reinforcing partnerships that benefit the broader community.
