The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents that unpaid property taxes are now considered delinquent as the parish prepares for the upcoming sheriff’s tax sale.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 2026 Sheriff Tax Sale is scheduled for June 24.

Officials said there are currently more than 300 properties within Vernon Parish with delinquent taxes. The reminder was issued in an effort to encourage property owners to address outstanding balances before the scheduled sale.

The sheriff’s office stated that it does not want to see residents lose their property due to unpaid taxes and encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to contact the parish tax office.
