A long-term joint task force investigation in Vernon Parish led to the arrest of a Leesville man following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Pine Road, authorities said.
Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the May 14, 2026 arrest of Jason Smith, also known as “Catwalk,” age 48, of Leesville.
According to investigators, the arrest stemmed from an ongoing multi-agency investigation that culminated in a search of Smith’s residence. During the search, authorities reported seizing large quantities of methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, and multiple firearms.
Smith was taken into custody and booked on several charges, including possession of a Schedule I narcotic, possession of a Schedule II narcotic with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of illegal carrying of a weapon.
He remains in the Vernon Parish jail with no bond set at this time.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests have not been ruled out.
Sheriff Craft, who oversees the investigation through the department, continues to coordinate the task force effort as part of ongoing narcotics enforcement in the region.
