Rosepine schools to close Friday in celebration of Lady Eagles advancing to state championship

The Rosepine Lady Eagles defeated Academy of the Sacred Heart on March 2 in the semifinals to advance to the championship round of the LHSAA State Basketball Tournament.

In celebration of the team’s historic run, Rosepine Schools will be closed Friday, March 6 allowing students, families, faculty, staff, businesses and community members the opportunity to travel and support the Lady Eagles as they compete for the state title.

The championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the University Center in Hammond. The designated fan theme for the game is beach.

School officials said the Lady Eagles have demonstrated heart, discipline, unity and pride throughout the postseason and encouraged the community to travel safely, represent Rosepine with class and fill the stands in support of the team’s pursuit of a state championship.
