The Leesville Police Department announced that Phase 1 of road construction on Entrance Road is set to begin this week, weather permitting. Work is expected to start Wednesday or Thursday, March 4 or 5, and continue for approximately four to six weeks.

Construction will take place from the bridge to K and R Furniture. Officials said businesses in the area, including K and R Furniture, a nearby church and a beauty salon, will remain open during the construction period. The construction team is developing a plan to help ensure the businesses remain accessible to customers.

Traffic laws will be strictly enforced in the work zone. The current speed limit of 45 mph will be reduced once construction begins.

Motorists are urged to slow down, drive cautiously and continue supporting local businesses during the construction period.
