
Vernon Parish District Attorney Terry Lambright reported the recent conviction of Jeremiah Foster, 25 of Rosepine, in connection with a 2021 death investigation involving his father.
Foster appeared before the Honorable Judge Tony Bennett on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, and entered a guilty plea to one count of manslaughter. The charge stemmed from the death of Larry Foster, who was 57 years old at the time of his death.
Jeremiah Foster was arrested by the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his father’s death. The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the investigation.
According to the district attorney’s office, the case represented a profound tragedy for all involved. Lambright acknowledged the efforts of law enforcement agencies that worked on the investigation and expressed appreciation to the victim’s family for their cooperation and support throughout the legal process, noting the difficulty of cases involving the loss of a loved one, particularly within a family.
