
The Anacoco Police Department and the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a welfare concern check at a residence located in Hornbeck.
Upon arrival Deputies were unable to contact anyone at the residence. Deputies made entry into the residence and located Ruth Holt, age 86, and her daughter, Fredda Pierce, age 64, deceased inside the home.
Detectives arrived at the residence and immediately began to process the scene. During the course of the investigation, Detectives were able to collect items of evidence which have been submitted to the crime lab for forensic testing.
Items were sent for testing in an effort to recover any DNA which may have been left behind by the person or persons responsible for this crime.
Detectives continue to interview people in an effort to obtain as much information as possible relating to the victims and the crime itself. The investigation into this homicide remains active.
