Jerry was born August 3, 1946, in Flint, Michigan and passed away August 11, 2025, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 79. He proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the Army and spent three tours in Vietnam. During his time in the service, he earned three Purple Hearts and later became a member of the 3106 VFW. After retiring from the Army, Jerry worked for 20 plus years in the Post Office in Alexandria before retiring as a supervisor. One of his hobbies was riding his motorcycle, and for a while he was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. In his early years Jerry liked to go camping and was always a Saints fan through thick and thin. He also enjoyed going on cruises, traveling on road trips, and eating – his favorites were Popeyes and Sonic onion rings. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and they will fondly recall the memories made together.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bobby Ward and Dennis Ward.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jeremy Ward (Melody) of Leesville, LA, Gerald Ward II (Selena) of Fort Worth, TX, Eddie Ward (Linda) of Wakefield, KS, and Damon Ward of Belton, TX;
