The Leesville Mayor’s Women’s Commission recently presented their September 2024 Civic Awards for Beautification to two Leesville citizens.
The residential award was presented to Art P. Komsuprom and Suni B. Boone who live at 2008 King’s Rd. The front yard has a multitude of plantings, with many of them currently in bloom. A mulberry and magnolia provide a canopy for the various flower beds that include a small cherry tree, Rose of Sharon, gladioli, roses, azaleas, hydrangeas, hibiscus, along with 2 Sago palms and more. Wall art, small statuary and brick fencing enhance the verdant space.

The commercial winner was Back to Nature which is owned by Natasha and Josh Wilkerson and located at 613 South 5th St. The sidewalks in front of their business are decorated for fall with lots of autumn leaves, pumpkins and brightly colored chrysanthemums. Several poinsettias which have survived since last Christmas, now without the brightly colored leaves that are so familiar, but still beautiful, green plants that help to highlight the overall beauty of the exterior.
