Remembering Glenda K. Cochran

Glenda K. Cochran, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend too many, passed away on September 5th, 2024, in Anacoco, Louisiana. She was born on June 23rd, 1959, in Winnfield, Louisiana to L.C. and Peggy Henry Josey.

Glenda is survived by her sons Charles Cochran of Seattle, Washington and Casey Cochran (Jessica) of Anacoco; grandchildren Luke Cochran, Mason, Bentlee, and Dawson Cochran; sisters Deliah Perry (Doug), Linda Strickland (Billy); brother-in-law Jimmy Cochran; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Peggy Henry Josey; son, Christopher Cochran; sisters, Bonita Josey Cochran and Janet Josey Maddox; grandparents, Clyde and Evie Addison Josey, as well as William “Bill” Henry and Mable Hearn Levitt.

Glenda’s love for her family knew no bounds. She adored her sons deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart even though she wished she could have spent more time with them.

Glenda was a devoted member of Good Hope Baptist Church, where she found solace and community among fellow believers.

Her enthusiasm for the holidays was infectious. Christmas brought out the best in Glenda as she delighted in decorating the house from top to bottom, while Halloween saw her dressing up to hand out treats with an unbridled joy that warmed the hearts of all who crossed paths with her during those festive times.

In quieter moments Glenda enjoyed putting puzzles together or getting lost in word searches or solitary games. She also loved staying connected through social media, especially Facebook where she kept up with friends near and far.

The loss of Glenda will be deeply felt by all who knew her but none more so than by those closest to her: family members whose lives were touched immeasurably by their bond with this remarkable woman.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 10, at Good Hope Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Bro. Henry Tinker Hillman along with Rev Michael Goins. Burial followed at Self Cemetery located in Hornbeck under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.

May we find solace knowing that Glenda’s spirit lives on within each person whose life she touched profoundly.
