
The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office has been notified of two scams taking place in the parish.
Citizens are being contacted by phone by an individual identifying themselves as a VPSO deputy.
The caller then advised that the resident had outstanding tickets and had missed their court date.
The caller stated he was calling on behalf of the judge.
The citizen challenged the caller stating they would call VPSO and the caller hung up at that time.
Also, a citizen indicated they they were contacted by telephone and the caller advised that their credit card had been used by drug dealers.
The caller then threatened the citizen by saying the US Marshal’s were coming.
Please DO NOT provide any information to suspicious callers.
