Lonnie Ray Givens was born December 28, 1957, to his parents, Willie Givens and Rosie M. Williams. He passed away on May 21, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Services will be at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Leesville on July 1, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Lonnie’s spiritual journey began at an early age when he was baptized in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. He continued his faith at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Leesville, Louisiana.

He was employed by the city of Zwolle, Louisiana, for several years. Later, he was employed by the City of Leesville for several years. Because of his job, he became known as J.J.

He met and married Sis. Georgie Hickman in 2005.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Georgie Givens; mother, Rosie Marie Williams; sister-in-law, Annie Greenwood; daughter, Natalie (Glenn) Gibson of Natchitoches, Louisiana; one grandchild, Steven Hickman of Norfolk, Virginia; and 11 brothers and sisters: Albert Johnson, Elber Johnson, Huey Givens, Carthan Williams, Alice Johnson, Flossie Johnson, Betty Jo Givens, Phillis Washington, Martha Ann, Delphine Givens, Brenda Givens. Four siblings preceded him in death: Angie Cartwrite, Malinda Jones, Willie Givens, and Rosie Marie Williams.
