
On Thursday, December 14, 2023, Bryce William Dixon Sr. passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Evon Dixon, by his side. He was born on August 10, 1945, to Joseph and Gladys Dixon in Many, LA.
Service was held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Labby Memorial in Leesville. Burial followed at Prewitts Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA.
Bryce was a quiet man who enjoyed living a simple life. He enjoyed fishing and loved doing yard work. He was also a lover of animals and was known to take in a stray or two or three. Before the symptoms of dementia, he also loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Evon Dixon; his children: Kate Barker and husband Bill, R.J. Wilson and wife Laura, Ray Parr, Robert Mace and wife Angela, Shari DesJardin, Stephanie Wilson, Brandon Wilson and wife Melissa, and Yvonne Dixon and fiancé Oscar Serna; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brothers: Billy Dixon and wife Rita, Bernice Dixon; and sister: Bonnie Jean Nash and husband Ellis.
He is preceded in death by parents: Joseph and Gladys Dixon, wife: Kate Dixon, children: Bryce Dixon Jr. and Glenda Wilson, granddaughter: Kate Ann Luna, brother: Bobby Dean Dixon, sisters: Betty Nash, Beulah Craft, and Bertha Legg.
The family would like to thank the staff at Byrd Hospital, ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital and especially to the Woodlands Healthcare Center and Guardian Hospice. We were blessed to have some very kind and patient people to help us with his care during his final months.
