Florence “Flo” Eloice Fessler (87) passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023, following a short, yet strong, battle with pneumonia.
Flo was born on August 27, 1936, in Florien, Louisiana to Charles and Moyese Richmond. She was the youngest of four children. Flo spent much of her adolescent life in Leesville, LA, where she graduated from Leesville High School in 1954. She met the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Fessler, during a USO dance at Camp Polk, and they were married November 3, 1953. With this union came three sons.
Flo is known for her many talents, including line dancing, song writing, and her impeccable watercolor painting skills. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved having get-togethers with all the other ladies. Flo was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her, and she will be greatly missed.
Flo is survived by her son Rodeny Fessler and five grandchildren: Alycia Fessler, Dustin Fessler, Dorothy Fessler, Dale Fessler and Brionnah Fessler.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Moyese Richmond; husband Richard “Dick” Fessler; sons Randy and Rick Fessler; sisters Ollie Russell and Mary Brumfield, and one brother Beau Richmond.
